Chris Brown

If you haven't heard, Chris Brown was arrested Sunday for assaulting Rihanna. But all the facts haven't been provided as to why he assaulted her. I'm glad that for once the media hasn't blown this out of proportion even though it is very cowardly for a man to assault a woman. A couple of radio stations such as 95.1 did a good job clearing up some of the rumors that have been floating around. There was a rumor saying that Rihanna gave Chris Brown a sexually transmitted diease, but 95.1 did good stating that there wasn't a source to prove this rumor true. All the media from what I have seen have just stated that Chris Brown was arrested and left it at that pretty much. It is surprising that Chris Brown did this because he was a good role model for kids. He was never in trouble and he was almost like the modern day Michael Jackson. Above all else, I really hope Rihanna is okay because she was hospitalized as a result of the incident. This incident may destroy Chris Brown's career and his image to the public. Chris Brown and Rihanna haven't spoken about the incident. I think this is very good, so the media won't try to put false information out there about them.

  1. I heard on the news today that there was another woman in the car with Chris. You really don't know what to think. These young men are just getting out of hand. Not all, but most. Chris Brow seems to be a nice well mannered young man, who comes from a good family. It is so hard to think that he would hit a woman. I really hope that they can work out their differences, because they made such a cut couple. Chris has lost his Wrigley endorsement and who knows what else he might loose. Hope this is the end of it and all the rumors stop. He has a great future in front of him and I hope he did not destroy that. Wish him all the luck.

  2. I think it was Mallori who said in class that if you are a celebrity, you have to know that the camera lenses are focused on you, waiting for a misstep. Assault by someone who had, until this point, a good reputation, just gives the media so many opportunities to exploit the situation. Now that Britney Spears is behaving herself, these news outlets need someone to talk about! It might be useful to talk about the fact that alcohol fuels most of these incidents--remember the deal with Michael Phelps? Supposedly, he was drunk before he ever got to the party. In the paper today, a young man got 25 years in jail for killing his wife--he had been drinking all night and lost control. The bottom line is that excessive alcohol lowers inhibitions and can turn a presumably nice person (like Chris Brown) into someone unrecognizable to himself and to others.

  3. I think that it is pretty ridiculous that people are saying all differnt types of rumors. It is very sad and scary to think that a young man at his calibur would do such a thing. I am shocked and dissapointed...but, I do get really annoyed when we as "civilians" talk about these celebrities like we know them.

  4. Once again all of you guys make a very good point. I think it is great that the media has blown this out of proportion especially with all the other events that have happened recently such A-Rod's admittance to using steroids in 2003 and Michael Phelps smoking marijuana. Jbry, love the comparison to Michael Jackson. Just remember what happened with him. He was a good role model until the news of his alleged child molestation charges. There aren't that many good role models anymore because the media makes them out to be the bad guys. Great post.

  5. That's cute that you have such a high respect for the media but i think it is a little nieve to say that the media won't blow this out of proportion, or that they won't add false information. The media will almost always fabricate a story in order to attracked readers. That's just what they do. In reference to the Rihanna/Brown incident, honestly, who cares! why are people so concerned with others who absolutely have no impact on their lives. I personally would be embarrased if i ever caught myself gossiping about a celebrities private life. Though i do understand once you become a celebrity, you are considered a public figure but you shouldn't loose your constitutional rights only because you decide to enter the entertainment industry. Put yourself in Rihanna's or Chris Brown's shoes. Would you want millions of strangers making accusations of your personal life? i think not.

  6. i think it repulsive on how chris brown attacked rihanna, but igt is not unexpected. i think that every celebrity has a moment of snapping and breaking thier normal preferences, and what you can, "loosing it." every celebrity will break sooner or later, in thier career. in is inevitable. but the actuakl fact that a young, successful, good looking, i might add, rapper and hip hop dancer attacks a well known singer, and abuses her, is the most repuslive thing i've heard in a while. but you cant tell me that celebreites are perfect, and with all that glamour they will make mistakes. should i even brin gup the michael phelps incident.

  7. Chris Brown and Rihanna are human beings with real issues, and not everyone in life gets along.

I agree that it was way out of line for him to assault her, but then again physical violence should not be the answer in any given situation.

I'm glad that the media didn't blow it out of the water, but it's their business.

No one knows the entire situation, except the two of them.

And Rihanna doesn't have such a good track record herself.

However, as I have said, I hope that she is recovers.
